In addition to supporting the Atlanta community’s educational needs, the Institute is committed to two initiatives in Haiti. The purpose of these initiatives is to connect Haitians living in Atlanta and in other communities of the Diaspora with on-the-ground efforts to develop the country from the ground up. These initiatives are: 1) a long-term Leadership Academy, which seeks to create a new generation of empathetic and competent leaders from among the adolescent generation, and 2) a pedestrian bridge building program to help connect those living in the most remote regions of the country to neighboring markets and other opportunities.
